Mr. Sadat is a founding team member of CPJ (2016–2019) and re-joined in April 2021 as the first Director responsible for Academic and Legal Empowerment. His portfolio includes leading the Refugee Studies Unit (RSU) in Cox’s Bazar.
An Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Mr. Sadat is also an accredited mediator and master trainer on mediation, associated with The World Bank Accountability Mechanism, UN Global Mediation Panel, Green Climate Fund, and Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC).
With a strong academic background in Economics and Law, Shahariar has held various teaching and research positions, including at the University of Dhaka, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, and the South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies (SAILS).
