Eid-ul-Azha: President Shahabuddin sends warm wishes to nation

He expresses the hope that the teachings of sacrifice will be reflected in the personal, social, and national lives of all

President Md Shahabuddin has extended heartfelt greetings to all Bangladeshis and Muslims worldwide on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, calling on everyone to embody the spirit of sacrifice in personal, social, and national life.

In a message issued ahead of the festival, to be celebrated tomorrow, President Shahabuddin said, “Eid Mubarak. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, one of the most significant festivals for Muslims, I extend my sincere greetings and best wishes to all Muslims in Bangladesh and across the world.”

He highlighted the profound meaning of the festival, saying, “Eid-ul-Azha carries the timeless lesson of ultimate sacrifice. The example set by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who demonstrated unwavering love and obedience to Allah by preparing to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS), remains unparalleled in human history and offers invaluable lessons for us all.”

The President noted that the act of Qurbani fosters a spirit of selflessness, compassion, and solidarity, encouraging people to share with relatives, neighbours, and the less fortunate.

“In our society, there are many underprivileged and disadvantaged individuals who live in hardship. We must embrace the ideals of equality and brotherhood embodied in Eid-ul-Azha and share the joy of this festival with them,” he urged.

“The spirit of sacrifice should inspire us to rise above selfishness and divisiveness, and to cultivate empathy and unity at every level of society,” President Shahabuddin said.

He further added, “While performing the ritual sacrifice of animals, we should also strive to cleanse our hearts of malice, hatred, and jealousy. I pray to Almighty Allah that Eid-ul-Azha brings prosperity, harmony, and well-being to all. Khoda Hafez.”
