The authorities have issued five health-related regulations for educational institutions, including the requirement that masks be worn, in an attempt to stop the spread of a new sub-variant of the coronavirus and dengue.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) issued an office order on Sunday to put into effect the directives from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the Ministry of Education.
Preventive actions are necessary because of the increase in illnesses caused by the new coronavirus sub-variant, according to the circular.
In order to help fight dengue and other mosquito-borne illnesses, it also emphasised the necessity of putting decisions made at a recent meeting called "Dengue Awareness: Future Measures" into action.
This most recent set of guidelines comes after a June 4 decree from the Ministry of Education's Secondary and Higher Education Division.
The ministry and the DGHS jointly issued these health guidelines, which all educational institutions under the DSHE are required to follow.
Guidelines for preventing dengue: Organisations must put the conclusions of the "Dengue Awareness: Future Measures" meeting into practice in order to avoid dengue and other diseases spread by mosquitoes.
To combat the dengue danger across the country, educators and students in all educational institutions must actively participate in awareness programs.
COVID-19 guidelines:
- As needed, frequently wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds.
- When going outside, wear a mask and stay away from big crowds.
- Keep at least three feet between you and infected people.
- Refrain from using dirty hands to contact the mouth, nose, or eyes.
- When you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with your arm, a tissue, or a piece of cloth.
